Video Open Mic

Join us for an open mic where performers will have the opportunity to walk away with a professionally shot and edited video of their performance for their own personal use! Featuring Kearmonie!

  • $10 cover charge (for everyone)

  • Additional $20, while signing up, if you would like a video

  • Performers do have the option of whether or not they want to be filmed!

  • First come First served!

  • Performances limited to 3 minutes! Only ONE piece!

  • No musical accompaniment or instrumentals! If you are a musician, you'll have to do it A capella!

About the feature:

Kearah-Armonie(Kearmonie) is an Afro-Caribbean Spoken Word Artist, Filmmaker, and Teaching Artist from Brooklyn, NY. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Film/Post-Production at Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema. Kearmonie’s writing often exhibits the condition of the Black American from a millennial lens, with personal accounts of love, family, oppression, and womanism. For the many underground poets, singers, rappers and comedians struggling to find spaces to showcase and workshop their talents...Poet, performer and community activist Dabriel Fulton has created The Mic Is Open ; An inclusive and inspiring forum for those who often go unheard.

The Mic Is Open was born because, Dabz wanted to create a platform for people like herself— artists, poets, musicians—to be able to come together in unity and express themselves. We always make sure that The Mic Is Open is a place where anyone could feel comfortable with sharing the truth of who they are.

Please start your new year off right & join us, January 17th for the experience of a lifetime!

Performing Arts Mosaic presents: Open Stage

Get ready for our first-ever Brooklyn event! We haven’t see everyone since Open Wedding and we are so excited to see you all again!

In case you forgot, Open Stage is a performing arts event in which any artist, amateur or professional, can take the stage and share a five-minute piece. This event is similar to an open mic but open to any art form. Share your art, or just enjoy the show!

Performers 🎭: At the event, submit your name, if selected, you will have 5 minutes to share your piece. Memorizing your piece is highly recommended.

Pecola Breedlove & The Freedom Party is a poetry based open mic held in West Philadelphia every Tuesday night since January of 2015. Inspired by The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, Pecola Breedlove & The Freedom Party is a gathering space for the Black Community and those genuinely concerned with the issues faced by the Black community. Poetry and other live performance genres are put at the forefront of this gathering space. Come on out, hear some good poetry, grab some food, and meet some cool people. Open to the public. Come join us as we gather to embrace community and lift one another to our highest possibility! Love is You is hosting their end of year potluck dinner along with an art exhibit and special performances. Doors open at 7:00PM, dinner starts at 8:00PM, followed by performances at 9:00PM. 

Entry: all ages. Please bring a tray of food to share or donate on a sliding scale of $7-$10 to help support the space.

This is an open space celebrating the lives of Queer, Trans, and Gender Non-conforming individuals.

As the viewer engages visual installations, a vast modicum of performance art becomes the backdrop or focal point creating a unique experience for each individual.
